Bishops

Rev. Jaime Pic.jpg

After visiting Madison County, Montana for many years, Jaime and her husband, Burleigh, relocated to Montana in 2018 after being offered the opportunity to serve both St. Paul’s in Virginia City and Trinity in Ennis.

A practical theologian at heart --- (which means she strives to see God in the basic, simplest aspects of our lives) --- Jaime leans toward the contemplative, mystical and poetic aspects of faith.  After completing an Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) at Virginia Theological Seminary, she was ordained to the priesthood in 2017.   Jaime spent 7 years volunteering in Arlington’s Virginia Hospital Center serving as a volunteer chaplain specifically for people who were dying and found themselves alone.  What she saw and heard at those bed sides led her to the priesthood and the sacred honor of administering the sacraments.

In addition to serving two Episcopal churches in Madison County, she currently serves on the Diocesean Council for the Episcopal Church in Montana.

While in Virginia, Jaime served on the Diocese of Virginia’s Commission on Ministry and briefly on the Bioethics Board at Virginia Hospital Center.  She also served on the Board of Trustees for Rivendell School in Arlington, Virginia.  You can occasionally catch a southern accent in Rev. Jaime’s voice as she is originally from Atlanta, Georgia.  She holds a BA in art and journalism from Georgia Southern University and did graduate work at both the University of Georgia Program in Cortona, Italy and the Georgia State University Program in International Studies.  An opportunity to serve on Capitol Hill brought Jaime to Washington D.C. and she embraced the adventure fully.  Jaime is married to Burleigh C.W. Leonard who is from Missouri and is an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.  They have two fabulous daughters.

The Reverend Jaime Leonard
